5 Inspiring Hair Trends for 2022

2021 brought us curtain bangs, money pieces, the Farrah Fawcett and much more. A new year is upon us, and it’s the perfect time to refresh your look, or even try a full on makeover.

Here’s our heads up on some of the trends set to take off in 2022.

Bronde

Bronde is a blend of brown and blonde hair colours that is typically combined usually highlights or balayage. Suitable on a wide-range of complexions, bronde can be a natural- looking and versatile look for those who want some lightened texture in their hair, but don’t want to go full blonde. Ask your stylist to consider your eye and skin colour, and create a bespoke colour combo just for you. We also recommend you make use of a toning shampoo to keep your colour fresh.

Bob with Centre Part

Everyone loves a bob. It’s cute, it’s practical and it never goes out of style. Bobs are set to continue in their popularity, with a centre part as the new go-to. A centre part frames and flatters most face shapes, and can look great either straight or curled. We will likely see the mid length bob stay in style – longer than a short bob but shorter than a long bob, falling somewhere above the shoulder and below the chin. Opt for blunt ends for a super striking look.

90s Supermodel Blow Out

We all know fashion trends return. And to that end, it’s no surprise that the 90s blow out is back. A beloved statement look made famous by icons such as Cindy Crawford and Claudia Schiffer, the blow out is big, bold and beautiful. In order to get the look you want to create volume both at the roots and at the ends. Apply a heat protectant and then brush through, grabbing small sections of hair. Next, blow-dry and curl your hair away from your face with a round brush. After, brush to relax the curls and create fullness. Flipping your hair will create extra volume – and we say the more volume the better.

Loads of Clips

Clips are an easy way to lift your look, and they provide the practical bonus of holding shorter hair back off your face. In 2022 you can expect to see hair adornment continuing in popularity. You can try a line of pearl clips with a side part, cross clips either side of your part, 90s style flower clips throughout the lengths, symmetrical clips to pin back hair by your ears, or a mix and match set of clips with your bangs. Basically, anything goes and sparkle is in!

The Shag

The shag is here to stay. The look comprises relaxed layers, a choppy style and a lot of volume in versatile style that suits a variety of haircuts. A shag is a quick way to transform your look and is sure to get you noticed. There are a range of shags out there including the short shag, long shag, modern shag (softer and feminine with face framing layers), and the 70s shag. The shag can suit all hair types, but if you’re a tousle and go kind of gal, this could be the perfect cut for you.
